Faculty: Peggy Patton, Manager of CHEX eLearning at The Corridor Group
Location: Orlando V
After spending many long hours sitting though countless software demonstrations a decision has finally been made. Your organization has made a huge investment in a new technology.  Now what?  Implementations are difficult and although the end result is usually favorable, tough times are ahead.  Position yourself and your organization for a smooth transition and success by learning best practices to avoid the common pitfalls associated with many technology implementations.

Technology and Learning: Trends, Techniques & Tips
Faculty: Peggy Patton, Manager of CHEX eLearning, The Corridor Group
Location: Orlando VI
Core competencies are critical for your staff, but with the Hospice workforce spread out over your service area and needed at the bedside, managers and trainers must harness distance learning and electronic delivery options in order to ensure that all team members are trained efficiently and effectively. Whether you are updating pharmacy protocols or introducing a new sales campaign, you can train your staff wherever they are utilizing the latest trends and technologies. This session will explore the variety of tools available and show you how to get the most from your training dollars.

Learning Is Still A People Business

An organization’s success with a new tool, technology, or approach depends on how this change is implemented. Change requires a shift in attitudes, behaviors, skills, and knowledge from management and staff. Long-term success is dependent upon how soon the change is adopted into not only work life but also organizational culture. The organization’s new tool, technology, or approach needs to be embraced by the organization as the “new normal.” Not all change is the same and different models must be used to make sure change initiatives are successful.

Lance Dublin, CEO and chief solution architect for Dublin Consulting, discusses these different models in the article Learning Is Still a People Business. He closes the article with seven valuable implementation tips for learning leaders. It’s worth taking a look!

Perception Of Learning Defined By Culture

What is the CFO culture in your organization? The conclusion of this article is that there are two separate camps for CFOs: there are those who believe learning is a good investment, and those who don’t. In the end, the real issue is that as a core competency, neither the learning profession nor the finance professions have what every pharmaceutical organization has: the knowledge and experience to separate the influence of learning from the financial impact.
